Darren is the Clinical Director at Vanbrugh Physio. With decades of experience as a physiotherapist, he leads a talented team of physios and massage therapists, supported by a dedicated admin team that keeps the clinics running seamlessly.
Originally from Australia, Darren grew up in a sport-loving family and competed in swimming and gymnastics (while humbly admitting he didn’t quite shine at Aussie Rules football). His early exposure to injury and recovery sparked a lifelong fascination with physiotherapy and a desire to help others regain function and confidence through movement.
At Vanbrugh, Darren is passionate about delivering evidence-based, forward-thinking care tailored to each individual. He believes that great physiotherapy starts with listening – understanding not just symptoms, but the deeper motivations and goals behind each patient’s visit. His approach combines clinical expertise with a genuine commitment to helping people achieve and often exceed their treatment goals.
Darren is also a Certified ConnectTherapy™ Practitioner, trained in a whole-person approach to identify the true drivers of long-standing or complex issues. As part of the inaugural certification group in 2015, he remains active in a global network of advanced clinicians using this methodology.
An interesting fact no one would know:
At 16, he spent a year in Denmark as a Rotary Exchange Student and still maintains close ties with his Danish host family — speaking the language fluently more than 30 years on.
