Footscan gait analysis

Our high-resolution footscan system gives detailed insight into how you load and move through your feet. A footscan gait analysis is crucial for biomechanical assessments of gait and posture and a custom orthotic prescription.

The footscan gait analysis will identify pressure hotspots that lead to pain or injury. The objective data output allows us to fine-tune your treatment plan and monitor progress with precision.

We find that people can experience foot, ankle, knee, or hip pain as a result of abnormal pressure distribution in their feet. These individuals can benefit from a footscan gait analysis to better understand how pressure is distributed – which is particularly helpful in selecting proper footwear or designing orthotics.

Also, footscan gait analysis can be helpful for individuals recovering from lower limb injuries or surgeries to ensure proper healing and to prevent compensatory injuries elsewhere in the body.

The footscan gait analysis will involve a series of tests. The entire appointment can take upwards of 20 to 30 minutes and will involve a discussion with your physiotherapist.

Your physiotherapist will talk through the instant graphical feedback that illustrates pressure distribution, timing, and balance. Your physiotherapist will also prepare a personalised report, fit with recommendations for footwear, exercises, or orthotics.
