What is Clinical Pilates?
Clinical Pilates is a form of low impact exercise that helps to strengthen your core, correct poor movement patterns, improve posture and flexibility and restore normal muscle function and in your body.
When injured or in pain, your body will move in ways to protect you. The problem is, these new movement patterns are often non-optimal, often placing greater strain on your body, causing more issues in the long term.
That’s why, here at Vanbrugh, we have a fully equipped Pilates studio, to help you move better.
Using specialist equipment your Clinical Pilates Instructor can identify and ‘break-down’ these movement patterns and design a tailored program to help to retrain your body to move better, be stronger and achieve your health and wellbeing goals.
Who is it for?
Clinical Pilates is highly beneficial for those recovering from injury or surgery, or those undertaking rehabilitation for persistent or chronic pain. It’s also perfect for people who want to improve their movement efficiency and performance.
For those recovering from an illness or cancer, it is a safe and supportive way to rebuild strength, core stability and confidence in your movement. Many of our clients report feeling more confident in their bodies.
It’s also a great cross-training tool allowing the pilates equipment to challenge your control, co-ordination and movement abilities. The result is a more finely tuned musculoskeletal system.
Whether you’re a keen athlete, a new mum, an office worker or in your senior years, our dedicated team will help you regain your strength, motor control and balance in a safe and supervised environment.
