Testimonial:
I came to see James for a painful shoulder problem, which had been going on for several months. It was getting worse when I did everyday movements such as carrying my bag or even putting on my coat. I just had no mobility, and it was making me miserable. James was great. He explained everything clearly, was calm and professional in the way he addressed everything and told me it was a problem we could solve. Even after the first session I was feeling much better.
I am happy to report that not only have I fully recovered from my shoulder pain, but I was also inspired by James to start a new journey for my health, which lead me to engage in Pilates and Personal Training at the Vanbrugh. I would highly recommend James and the Vanbrugh clinic. It is filled with kind and professional people. Going to the Vanbrugh has been the best decision I have ever made, and it has changed the trajectory of my life. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Bio:

Hi, I’m James and I joined the Vanbrugh Team in 2021 after graduating from Hertfordshire University. I come from a very sporty background, enjoying both football and boxing.

I started my working career as a personal trainer, where I focused on working with clients in the gym, helping them achieve their fitness and weight loss goals. After a period, I came to realise that many people had limitations with exercise due to previous injuries that were not properly rehabilitated or were due to muscle imbalances. This intrigued me, and I would go away and research further as to how I could help people improve their quality of life. This journey led me to study physiotherapy, because I realised I wanted a career where I could make an even bigger difference to improving peoples lives.

I enjoy working closely with people, assessing and treating their injuries and making their rehabilitation bespoke for them and their goals. Furthermore, I enjoy helping patients with advice and lifestyle choices to prevent their injuries from returning, whilst still allowing them to do all the sports and hobbies they love. What I truly enjoy the most though, is making that connection with people, truly understanding what it is they want to achieve with their physiotherapy and doing my very best to help them achieve their goals. I also believe that the rehab process should be enjoyable, so I try and make my treatment sessions fun.

When I am not working, I enjoy boxing, going to the gym and socialising with friends, trying new restaurants and cafes.

I am very grateful to be a member of this amazing team at Vanbrugh Physio and I am very excited to be continually helping people improve their quality of life.

An interesting fact about you no one would know (until now):
One of my closest friends and I made a short sci-fi film based on a Hollywood feature film called Equilibrium. Together we wrote the story and produced it. I was one of the lead actors and he directed it. To this day people are still impressed with how cinematic this short film is.
