Testimonial:

I have had soft tissue therapy with Anja and honestly, it was the best decision I have ever made! I had suffered with pain in my back and neck for months, seeing multiple professionals such as chiropractors and other massage therapists, but it was still there. It wasn’t until I did a session with Anja, where she used more advanced techniques on top of massage, where I felt like I was floating on air after the first treatment! Due to her thorough examination and questioning beforehand, she knew where to look and what techniques to do, which led me to be pain free, something I had given up hope on that I would ever be! Because of help from Anja on how to manage my situation I am now pain free all the time. I cannot thank Anja enough and I can’t stop raving about her to others. I will be a client for life for sure! 100% recommend!

Bio:

Hi, I’m Anja and I joined the Vanbrugh Team in 2020. I have a deep passion for health, fitness and wellbeing, and I believe in a holistic approach to help people improve their quality of life. My story is a bit different to most sport scientists as I do not come from a background in sport. In fact, I was not active at all growing up and in my early twenties I was very career focused in the restaurant/retail industry climbing the ladder to management by working far too many hours and relying on fast food and coffee to power through.

After injuring myself in my hip joint during work, burning out, and experiencing a family member (my dad) passing away from lung cancer from smoking for 41 years, I experienced first-hand what lifestyle choices can do to you. This is when my obsession for health and wellness began as I was determined not to be a victim of poor choices. I decided to take control of my life. After turning my own health around, I realised I wanted to empower others to do the same.

After my Sports Science degree, I trained as a Personal Trainer and started working at Nuffield Health, where I discovered just how common it was for people to be living their lives with lots of aches and pains, and more surprisingly, putting up with them. It was then I realised that I could help people in more ways than one and wanted to add Soft Tissue Therapy to my qualifications.

I love being a Soft Tissue Therapist as I not only get to alleviate people’s aches and pains, but I also get to help figure out what’s causing the problem. Working together with them to make a plan for how to manage it going forward is rewarding.

The latest addition to my tool belt is Clinical Pilates. During my Soft Tissue Therapy training it became clear that working in a clinical environment would require additional learning of rehabilitation and prevention exercises. Taking the Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Course was an incredible experience and I learnt a lot about the body and movement, but also discovered a whole new philosophy for wellness. I absolutely love being in the Pilates studio where I get to share that philosophy with others in both small group classes and one-to-one sessions.

I am very grateful to be working at the Vanbrugh Physio Clinic where I not only get to work alongside an amazing team, but also get to help people discover a quality of life they did not think was possible!

An interesting fact about you no one would know (until now):
I am half German and went to a German school in Stockholm, and can therefore speak German fluently.
